In terms of the international visit of the president of South Korea Moon Jae-in to Kazakhstan, the meeting between Korean Minister of Health and Welfare Park Neung-hu and his Kazakh colleague Yelzhan Birtanov was held. Ministers have discussed cooperation perspectives including continuous education of doctors in the leading healthcare institutions, advanced technology exchange and attraction of investment into the medical sector. The meeting was summoned by signing a number of memorandums.

The first was the MoU signed between Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND), Republican Center for Health Development, Kazakhstan Public-Private Partnership Center and our organization Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI). The memorandum expresses mutual interest in further cooperation in investment projects. The second MoU was signed on opening of the rehabilitation department at the Kazakh National Medical University named after Asfendiyarov with Kyungpook National University. The third MoU was signed between the National Research Oncology Center (Kazakhstan) and National Cancer Center (Korea).
