Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) is a government-affiliated institution operating under the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea. KHIDI was established in 1999 with the purpose of providing professional and systematic support for the development of Korean healthcare industry in order to enhance its competitiveness on a global scale.
Our aim is the promotion of advanced healthcare services with a long-term perspective to turn the healthcare business into a new growth engine for Korea’s creative economy. We are striving to generate the ‘Korean-wave’ in the global healthcare industry by combining the strength of Korea’s medical services, education, pharmaceutical products, medical devices and cosmetics.
KHIDI office in Almaty, Kazakhstan is a representative institution providing informative support in all CIS countries. We conduct numerous systematic projects aimed to provide accurate and accessible information about Korean healthcare industries amongst patients and local medical service providers. KHIDI CIS office has become the only means of communication between Korea – CIS healthcare organizations and has mediated numerous forms of cooperation on an international level. Since our establishment, we have promoted strong communication links between the government of Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. KHIDI CIS office is involved in providing support to the private CIS companies interested in business co-operation with Korean providers of medical services, pharmaceutical products and medical devices.
KHIDI is a professional institute promoting Korean health industry and creating its future values
During the past years we have witnessed rapid growth of demand for Korean services in the global healthcare sector - especially through attraction of foreign patients and export of healthcare service along with healthcare systems. This is a valuable outcome we have earned through years of efforts on global advancement and outreach in this sector.
Last year, our continuous efforts have been recognized by the International Medical Travel Journal Awards, which has honored our project «Smart Care Medical Korea» and nominated us first in the medical tourism destination category.
